Old-school sewer replacement means an excavator cutting a trench across your property. Here's what we do instead:

Camera the line
We run a camera through your sewer and show you where the damage is — roots, bellies, breaks, or collapsed pipe. You see it before you decide anything.
Pull the new pipe
Through one entry hole and one exit hole, our equipment bursts the old pipe apart and pulls a new seamless line into its place — most residential jobs wrap up in a single day.
Put everything back
Sprinklers, lighting, patio, lawn — untouched. We clean the site up before we leave. Leaving your landscaping the way we found it is a point of pride around here.

Our story

Two generations of honest sewer work

In 1978, Michael Charles started Rooter Master with a simple idea: do excellent work at honest prices and stand behind it. When trenchless technology arrived in the late '90s, the company saw what the Bay Area's aging sewer laterals actually needed — replacement without excavation — and Advanced Trenchless Inc. was born.

Today, Michael's sons Ryan Charles and Jordan Bailey run the company out of Martinez, and the family standard hasn't budged: after four decades and thousands of jobs, there has never been a complaint filed against us with the State Licensing Board or the Better Business Bureau. We intend to keep it that way.

How do I know if my sewer line is failing?

The usual early signs: drains that gurgle, more than one fixture backing up at once, sewage smells in the yard, or an unusually green, soggy patch of lawn. A camera inspection settles it — we run a camera through the line and you watch the footage with us, so you see exactly what we see.

Will trenchless really not wreck my yard?

That's the whole point of it. We dig one entry hole and one exit hole, and the new pipe travels underground between them along the path of the old one. Sprinklers, driveways, patios, and mature landscaping stay put. We put the two small dig spots back the way we found them.

How long does a sewer replacement take?

Most residential trenchless replacements wrap up in a single day. Bigger or deeper lines can take longer — we'll tell you the honest timeline after the camera inspection, before any work starts.

What does it cost?

It depends on the length, depth, and condition of the line, which is why we won't quote a number sight-unseen — and why our estimates come from a camera inspection, not a sales script.
